5 Must-See Film Festivals in Europe
One great thing about Europe is that it offers a wide range of activities. From beer to poetry, you’ll find a variety of festivals taking place throughout the year. Film festivals are no exception, and they present not only a variety of options among themselves, but also a survey of diverse films within their mandate. Below are five that we feel are definitely worth checking out.
1.) ImageSanté : Festival International du Film de Santé de Liège: Taking place in Liège,Belgium since 1994, this festival gathers movies about health and related issues. It occurs bi-annually and aims to promote health education and information through audio-visual means.
2.) Motovun Film Festival : This Croatian film festival focuses on mountain films. It takes place in Motovun, a town on a hill by the sea; what more could you ask for?
3.) CPH:DOX: Copenhagen, Denmark hosts this documentary film festival with events at various times throughout the year. The films presented here are also taken on tour around the rest of Europe.
4.) Festival international du film d’Amiens: This international film festival is entering its thirty-second year. The event happens in Amiens, France, and anyone can submit a film directly on their website.
5.) Fantasy Filmfest: Located in several cities in Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne, and Nuremberg), the Fantasy Filmfest brings together fantasy lovers from around the world. The films are also international.
